Turn spending insights into a realistic plan

โ˜•
Measure your own costs: Compare your actual purchase prices and frequency with the cost of a realistic alternative. There is no universal price for homemade or purchased drinks.
๐Ÿ›ต
Check statements before changing habits: Add delivery charges, service fees and subscriptions when comparing repeated purchases. Use your recorded spending rather than a national average.
๐Ÿฆ
Retain the savings: Spending less increases savings only if you keep the difference. Compare an emergency reserve, debt repayment and longer-term goals within your budget.
๐ŸŽฏ
Start with a sustainable change: Adjust the frequency input to a plan you can follow. Investment growth is hypothetical and may differ substantially from this constant-return illustration.

Habit cost planning questions

Model and content reviewed 2 October 2026. Results depend on your inputs.

It estimates repeated spending and a hypothetical alternative saving scenario. Your chosen daily price and frequency may differ from actual spending.
A โ‚น50 purchase every day for 365 days costs โ‚น18,250 over one year. Fewer purchase days reduce the amount. Confirm whether the selected frequency matches your routine.
No. Spending avoided becomes savings only if you actually retain the money. Any projected investment growth uses an assumed rate and is not a promise.
That is a personal budget decision. Use the figures to compare priorities; the calculator does not assess health effects or prescribe how you should spend.

Daily spending calculator: a small habit, a checkable total

Enter what you actually pay and how often. A chai, coffee or delivery habit is easier to assess when its yearly total is visible. The calculation is an opportunity-cost illustration, not a judgement about an essential or enjoyable expense.

Daily exampleDaily spending365-day spending
โ‚น20 ร— 2 cupsโ‚น40โ‚น14,600
โ‚น30 ร— 3 cupsโ‚น90โ‚น32,850
โ‚น100 ร— 1 coffeeโ‚น100โ‚น36,500

Why is the monthly total not exactly one-twelfth of the year?

The displayed monthly estimate uses an average 30.44 days; the annual estimate uses 365 days. That small rounding difference is intentional. Weekly-frequency selections are converted to a daily average before the yearly comparison.

Can I really invest all of that spending?

Only money you actually stop spending becomes available to save. Cutting a โ‚น90 daily expense in half releases roughly โ‚น45 a day, not the full โ‚น90. The modeled investment line assumes the full entered monthly spending is redirected, with beginning-of-month contributions and a constant assumed return. Actual returns can be lower or negative.

Compare your own price and frequency first; a higher return assumption is not a reason to choose an investment. Use the monthly budget planner for the rest of your household commitments.

These are original illustrations, not product quotations or return forecasts. Calculation examples checked 22 October 2026.
